Nicky D'Alessandro has been chasing rockets for over two years, and has personally witnessed and photographed over 75 launches, including NASA, SpaceX, and ULA.

On October 8, 2022, after several scrubbed launches, I was able tag along as he captured the highly coveted "Moon Transit" shot, in which the path of the rocket's trajectory could be photographed crossing in front of the visible full moon.

When it comes to rocket photography, one must utilize a range of skills and tools to achieve such incredible results, including navigation, apps such as Flightclub and PhotoPills, along with a lot of patience/dedication - as the shots are subject to any one of a million things that could go wrong ranging from launch operations to weather.
